Is the aluminum adaptor that fits on to the lamp and holds the chimera rods in place.
A Speed Ring is the most popular method for attaching a Chimera light control device to a lighting instrument. Speed rings come in various diameters and have varied shapes of rings and grooves to allow them to natively fit into the barn door and scrim holding ears of virtually every light in common use today. Most Chimera speedrings have four tabs that accept the support rods that are slipped into the channels in the corners of the Chimera bag. The tabs are angles outward and the tension created by the support rods being bent in order to fit them onto the speed ring supports and holds the shape of the tent-like Chimera bag as it is fit into place into the ears of the lighting instrument.
