Quality of Light

The quality of light refers to the apparent effects the light source creates and how it renders shadows and light reflections upon the subjects that are visible by camera. Light quality can generally be referred to a hard light or soft light with reference to lighting sources and instruments but is also directly connected to how the lighting source is visible to the camera based on the reflective quality of the skin or surface of the camera subject.
