Depth of Field
Depth of Field describes the area of the image captured that appears to be acceptably in-focus with respect to subjects being closer or further from the camera. The depth of focus can appear 'shallow' where a small area in front of the lens is in focus. The depth of focus can also appear 'deep' where nearly all of the items in a frame, foreground, mid-ground and background all appear to be in acceptable sharp focus.
